Charting Paradise: A Story of Self-Discovery

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

A performance piece chronicling the journey of personal insight via one fur's discovery and involvement in the fandom, dragon_cushion is very pleased to present a reading of "Charting Paradise" to an audience of his peers, in the space for which it was written: a fur con. Exploring such topics as external/internal judgment, creative growth, and delicious French toast, the piece is an extended poetic metaphor in a stream-of-consciousness style inspired by the works of famous performance artist Holly Hughes. The journey spans from the innermost doubts and emotions of the artist's mind outwards to encompass the fandom as a collective in relation to society and beyond. The performance will last about 20-25 minutes followed by a question and answer session in which audience members are invited to share their own experiences in discovering and becoming involved in the wonderful world of furry.
